My journey to becoming an artist

I live on the edge of The Peak District surrounded by nature where beautiful colours and shapes in this dramatic landscape are constantly changing with each season.

I have always had a desire to paint, but a busy life with a job and three children became my priority, then in 2015 I decided to join art groups where I could meet like-minded people and this gave me confidence to move forward.

Through my husband's support and encouragement (he built me my art studio), I now have my own space and enjoy spending time painting and  creating art at Kelstedge Studio.

Learn and grow with like-minded artists

Are you an aspiring artist?

Joining art groups gave me the confidence to follow my dream and paint. I feel so passionate about the support that artists can give each other, that I want to create a space for artists of all abilities to meet, paint and learn from each other.

I understand the importance of support in an artist's life. Art groups can provide us with the appropriate training, tools and advice we need to succeed and follow our dreams.

My dream is to create a local art collective; where like-minded artists - from newcomers to veterans of the art world - can come together to meet and share ideas, techniques and advice.

I am fortunate to own The Kelstedge pub. Once Covid restrictions are lifted, I will be inviting artists to meet in this space and display and sell their work. A room in the pub is already earmarked for my vision!
